  Main reserch lines  
  The Laboratory's main object of research is human social cognition. The main lines of research concern:
▪ neurobiological and bodily bases of intersubjectivity and empathy;
▪ neurobiological and bodily bases of emotions;
▪ neurobiological and bodily bases of language comprehension;
▪ neurobiological and bodily bases of various psychiatric disorders, such as schizophrenic psychosis, PTSD and eating disorders;
▪ neurobiological and bodily bases of aesthetic experience in communication, visual arts and film.

 
  Techniques used  
  Behavioural paradigms; recording of eye movements; recording of cardiac electrical activity (ECG); recording of muscle electrical activity (EMG); recording of brain electrical activity (EEG); brain imaging (fMRI); recording of eye movements (eye-tracking system).

 
  Main equipments available  
  High-density EEG 128 canali (Electric Geodesic Sensor Net); fMRI (GE 750 3T); Recording eye movements (Tobii Pro System X3-120 Hz Eye-Tracker); Powerlab and OctalBioAmp8/30, ADInstruments, UK (EMG e ECG).
